Week 31

Still feeling great. I hope the birth is just as easy going as this pregnancy has been! I feel so lucky to have had such an easy experience. I power walk 3.6 miles every day which the dogs have been LOVING. The only reason it's hard to run is because I feel little Alistair bouncing up and down on my bladder with each step. Walking keeps things smoother. He's still breach. I've never felt any kicks up high, they have all been down low near my hips. He's most active at night. And he has hiccups at least three times a day!

Week 28

If I hardly have time to blog NOW pre child, I can't imagine how I'm going to do this post child! Maybe during naps.
The belly is growing like crazy. It really popped this past week. I feel him kicking all the time. He stays really low in my belly, and I haven't felt anything up in my ribs yet. Heartburn has been bad a few times at night. I catch my students glancing down at my belly just to make sure it's still there. I've had kids ask "When you have your baby, will you have him at your piano?" Too funny!

Alistair Charles in 4D

 Snuggled up against my placenta
Trying to eat his foot. Left arm is crossing over his face.
Foot is still up, but his mouth is closed
 Hand is covering his face
His arm resting on his knee. The deep thinker.

When we were in Seattle we had a 4D ultrasound done so my parents could see their grandchild for the first time. It was such an incredible experience. He looks so much like Alex! I have lots to blog about, so stay tuned!

20 weeks: The Banana

Alex has felt the baby kicking at this point too. I feel him moving all the time now. He gets excited after I eat and when he hears music. I am now at the halfway point! I can't believe how fast this is going. Halfway through a pregnancy?? The baby is now 6.5 inches long. He is developing a protective coating over the skin, called vernix caseosa. It's greasy and white. He is working on his five senses. Nerve cells for his sense of taste, hearing, sight, and smell are developing in his brain. He has working taste buds and gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid each day. I will take a picture this week of my growing belly!
